ServeThe Availability Calendar provides a visual grid showing volunteer availability across upcoming services. It displays team members as rows and service dates as columns, with each cell colour-coded to indicate whether the volunteer is available, blacked out, assigned, or confirmed. This is an essential planning tool for identifying scheduling gaps before they become problems.

Overview
The page shows a matrix-style grid. The left column lists team members with their team memberships. The remaining columns represent upcoming service dates, grouped by week. Each cell contains a coloured dot indicating the volunteer's status for that service. Hovering over a cell shows a tooltip with the service title, date, volunteer name, and status.
Fields & Controls
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Team Selector | Dropdown | Filter the grid to show members of a specific team. Only teams from the selected campus are shown. |
| Weeks Selector | Button group | Choose how many weeks ahead to display: 4, 8, or 12 weeks. Default is 8 weeks. |
| Member Name | Display | Volunteer name in the left column, with their team memberships listed below. |
| Service Column | Header | Each column header shows the day label (e.g., "Sun") and date. Columns are grouped by week with a "Week of [date]" label. |
| Status Cell | Coloured dot | A dot in each cell indicates the volunteer's status for that service. Colour key: green = Available, red = Blackout, blue = Assigned, dark green = Confirmed. |
| Tooltip | Hover popup | Hovering over a cell shows: service date, service title, volunteer name, and status label. |
Status Legend
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Available | Green dot | The volunteer has no blackout and is not yet scheduled for this service. |
| Blackout | Red dot | The volunteer has an active blackout period covering this service date. |
| Assigned | Blue dot | The volunteer has been assigned to a slot for this service but has not yet confirmed. |
| Confirmed | Dark green dot | The volunteer has confirmed their assignment for this service. |
Actions
View a Specific Team
- Select a team from the team dropdown
- The grid reloads showing only members of that team
- Service columns adjust to show the appropriate timeframe
Adjust Timeframe
- Click 4, 8, or 12 in the weeks selector
- The grid expands or contracts to show more or fewer weeks
Check Volunteer Availability
- Hover over any cell to see the detailed tooltip
- Red dots indicate blackouts — do not schedule these volunteers for those dates
- Green dots indicate the volunteer is free and can be assigned
