CirclesThe Group Finder is a public-facing page where church members and visitors can discover and request to join small groups. It displays only groups marked as “public” and provides a warm, inviting interface designed for non-admin users.
Getting Here
Navigation: Circles → Group Finder
This page can also be shared as a direct link with congregation members. It loads public groups for the current tenant without requiring admin privileges.
Overview
The page shows group cards in a visually rich layout. Each card includes the group type (with emoji and color coding), meeting day and time, location, member count, available spots, a short description, and the leader's name. Visitors can filter by day, type, and format (in-person vs. online).
Fields & Controls
Filter Bar

| Search | Text input | Search groups by name or description text. |
| Day Filter | Pill buttons | Filter by meeting day: Any day, or a specific day (Sunday through Saturday). |
| Type Filter | Pill buttons | Filter by group type: Life Group, Bible Study, Women's, Men's, Youth, Prayer, etc. Types are loaded from tenant configuration. |
| Format Filter | Pill buttons | Filter by meeting format: All, In-person, or Online. |
Summary Stats
| Field | Type | Description |

| Groups Available | Metric | Total number of public groups matching the current filters. |
| People Connected | Metric | Total members across all displayed groups. |
| Spots Available | Metric | Total open spots across all groups (based on capacity minus current members). |
Group Card Fields
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Group Name | Display | Name of the group. |
| Type | Emoji + label | Group type with color-coded emoji (e.g., heart for Life Group, book for Bible Study). |
| Schedule | Display | Meeting day and frequency (e.g., "Wednesdays, Weekly"). |
| Location | Display | Where the group meets. |
| Members | Display | Current member count and spots available. |
| Description | Display | Short description of the group. |
| Leader | Display | Name of the group leader. |
Actions
Join a Group
- Browse the available groups using the filters
- Click Join This Group on the card of the group you want to join
- A modal opens with a join request form
- Enter your Name (required) and Email (required)
- Optionally add a personal Message to the group leader
- Click Send Request
- A confirmation screen appears. The request is now in the PENDING queue for admin review.
