CareThe Care Milestones Scan is a nightly background job that identifies upcoming milestone dates for all active members — birthdays, anniversaries, and significant spiritual dates — and creates care milestone records so pastoral staff can plan celebrations and outreach.
Schedule
When: Daily at 2am (tenant local time)
This is part of the nightly processing window. It runs alongside the Serve Stats Recalculation at 2am, followed by the Snooze Wakeup (3am) and Bereavement Anniversaries (3am).
Milestone Types

| Baptism Anniversary | BAPTISM_ANNIVERSARY | Generated from the member's baptism date. Marks years since baptism. |
| Membership Anniversary | MEMBERSHIP_ANNIVERSARY | Generated from the member's join date or membership date. Recognizes years of church membership. |
| Salvation Anniversary | SALVATION_ANNIVERSARY | Generated from the member's salvation date. Marks years since their profession of faith. |
How It Works
- The scanner reads the lead days configuration from the tenant settings (default: 30 days). This defines how far ahead to look for upcoming milestones.
- It loads all active members (donors) and checks each of the five milestone date fields.
- For each member with a valid date, it calculates whether the anniversary falls within the window between today and today + lead days.
- It checks for an existing milestone record for this member, type, and year to avoid duplicates.
- If no existing record is found and the date is within the window, a new care milestone is created with a descriptive title (e.g., “Jane Smith — 30th Birthday”).

Related Care Jobs
The Care Scheduler runs four jobs in sequence through the nightly and morning windows:

| Follow-Up Reminders | 7am daily | Sends notification reminders for care items that have upcoming or overdue follow-up dates. |
Data Requirements
Milestones can only be generated for members who have the relevant dates recorded in their profile. If a member has no date of birth, no birthday milestone will be created. Ensure member profiles are kept up to date in the Flock module for best results.

Job Output
Each run logs the number of milestones created for the tenant. Milestones appear in the Care module dashboard and can be assigned to staff for follow-up.
