Team types define the categories of volunteer teams available in your church. Each team type has a label, icon, optional color, and active status. System default types can be hidden but not deleted; custom types can be fully managed.

Navigation: Settings → Serve → Team Types

Overview

The page displays all team types in a reorderable list. Each row shows the type's icon, label, system badge (if applicable), active toggle, and action buttons. Use the arrow buttons to reorder types, which controls the display order across the Serve module.

Fields

FieldTypeDescription
Label*TextDisplay name for the team type (e.g., "Worship", "Tech / AV", "Ushers", "Greeters", "Children's Ministry").
Icon*Icon pickerA visual icon displayed alongside the label. Choose from a grid of available icons (e.g., Music, Monitor, Users, Heart).
ColorHex colorOptional hex color code for the icon and accent color (e.g., "#9333EA"). Leave empty for the default gray.
ActiveToggleWhen disabled, the team type is hidden from team creation and scheduling. Existing teams of this type are not affected.
SystemBadge (read-only)System-default types are marked with a "System" badge. They can be hidden (toggle off) or edited, but not deleted.

Actions

Add a Team Type

  1. Click + Add Team Type below the list
  2. Enter a label for the new type
  3. Select an icon from the icon picker grid
  4. Optionally enter a hex color code
  5. Click Add

Edit a Team Type

  1. Click Edit on the type row
  2. The row expands into an inline editor with the label, color, and icon picker
  3. Modify the fields as needed
  4. Click Save

Reorder Team Types

  1. Use the up/down arrow buttons on the left side of each row
  2. Sort order is saved automatically to the server

Hide a Team Type

  1. Click the toggle switch to disable the type
  2. The row dims to indicate it is hidden
  3. Toggle it back on at any time to restore visibility

Delete a Team Type

  1. Click Delete on a custom (non-system) type
  2. Confirm the deletion in the dialog
  3. This action cannot be undone
