The fiscal year start month determines how all year-to-date (YTD) calculations, annual contribution statements, and fund goal resets are computed across the Steward module.

Overview
Most churches use a January 1 fiscal year start, which is the default. If your church operates on a different fiscal cycle (e.g., July 1 for a July–June year), change the start month here. The page shows the currently configured fiscal year range below the selector.
Fields

| Fiscal Year Start* | Month selector | The month in which your fiscal year begins. Day is always the 1st. Defaults to January. |
| Current Fiscal Year | Display | Shows the computed start and end dates for the current fiscal year based on the selected month. |
What This Affects
- YTD totals on the Steward dashboard, donor profiles, and reports
- Annual CRA contribution statements — the statement period aligns to the fiscal year
- Fund goal resets — goals with no explicit end date reset at the start of each fiscal year
- Fiscal year filter in all financial reports
Changing the Fiscal Year
- Select the new start month from the dropdown
- Click Save Fiscal Year
- A confirmation dialog warns that historical YTD calculations will be re-bucketed
- Confirm to apply the change
