Stripe Connection Guide

This guide walks you through connecting your Stripe account to SanctuaryOS for online giving. Stripe handles all payment processing, with funds deposited directly into your church's bank account.

Prerequisites

  • A Stripe account (create one free at stripe.com if you do not have one)
  • Your church's bank account linked in Stripe for payouts
  • SUPER_ADMIN role in SanctuaryOS

Step 1: Initiate Connection

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Connect with Stripe on the Stripe card
  3. You will be redirected to Stripe's authorization page

Step 2: Authorize SanctuaryOS

  1. Log in to your Stripe account (or create a new one)
  2. Review the permissions SanctuaryOS is requesting
  3. Click Authorize to grant access
  4. You will be redirected back to SanctuaryOS

Step 3: Verify Connection

  1. The Stripe card should now show “Connected” with a green badge
  2. Your truncated account ID is displayed for reference
  3. Click Dashboard to verify in Stripe

What Happens After Connection

  • A branded giving page is automatically available at your church's URL
  • Funds marked as “Visible Online” appear on the giving page
  • Online donations flow into SanctuaryOS as transactions
  • Transactions are automatically attributed to the correct service window
  • Recurring giving schedules are managed through Stripe

Disconnecting

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Disconnect on the Stripe card
  3. Confirm the disconnection
  4. Online giving is immediately disabled
  5. Existing transaction records are retained

Troubleshooting

Connection fails or times out

Ensure pop-ups are not blocked for the SanctuaryOS domain. The Stripe OAuth flow opens in the same window and must redirect back to complete.

Status shows “Not connected” after authorizing

The callback URL may have been intercepted. Try the connection again. If the issue persists, check that your Stripe account is in good standing.

Online giving page shows no funds

Ensure at least one fund has the “Visible Online” toggle enabled in Settings → Finance → Funds.
