Set Up Prayer Guides

Prayer Guides are structured multi-day prayer and fasting plans that you can share with your congregation. Each guide has a date range and daily entries with themes, scripture references, and focused prayer content. Guides can be published with a public URL for easy sharing.

Prerequisites

• SUPER_ADMIN, LEAD_PASTOR, PASTOR, or CARE_MINISTER role

Step-by-Step

1. Navigate to Prayer Guides

1. Open Care from the header mega menu
2. Click Prayer Guides
3. The list page shows all guides as cards, filterable by status: All, Published, Draft, Archived

2. Create a New Guide

1. Click the + New Guide button in the header banner
2. A new guide is created with the default title “New Prayer Guide” and a 7-day date range starting today
3. You are automatically redirected to the guide editor

3. Configure the Guide Details

On the editor page, fill in the left-side settings panel:

1. Title — Give the guide a meaningful name, e.g. “21 Days of Prayer & Fasting”
2. Description — A brief summary shown on the guide listing and the public page
3. Start Date — When the first day of the guide begins
4. End Date — The last day of the guide
5. Public — Toggle this on to generate a shareable public URL
6. Slug — The URL-friendly identifier used in the public link (e.g. 21-days-2026)

1. Click Save to persist your changes

4. Add Daily Entries

1. In the right panel, click Add Day to create a new day entry
2. Each day is automatically numbered and dated based on the guide’s start date
3. Click on a day to expand it and edit:
   • Theme — The focus for that day, e.g. “Gratitude” or “Unity”
   • Content — The prayer prompts, scripture passages, and devotional text
4. Changes are saved when you update each day entry
5. To remove a day, click the delete button on the expanded day card

5. Publish the Guide

1. Review all days to ensure content is complete
2. Click the Publish button in the header banner
3. The status changes from Draft to Published
4. If the guide is marked as public, a shareable URL becomes active at /care/prayer-guides/[id]/read

6. Share the Public URL

1. Copy the public URL from the guide editor
2. Share it via email, social media, or your church’s website
3. The public page displays each day in a clean, mobile-friendly reading layout

7. Archive When Complete

1. After the prayer guide period ends, click Archive
2. Archived guides are dimmed in the list and no longer appear in the Published filter
3. The public URL remains accessible for anyone with the link
